The Bee Loft is run by Heather Lamborn, a passionate crafter and fabric lover who has been working in textiles most of her life. With a background in art and design, Heather is particularly interested in recycling and retro crafts and nowadays specialises in rag rug making.
Her work has been commissioned worldwide, by private and public collections such as the national charity Art In Hospitals. Another piece, for Sheppey Library, was shortlisted for Kent “Art in Public Places” award.
Over the years Heather has been fortunate to cross paths with many inspiring and creative people who now are regular visitors and teachers at The Bee Loft.
The Studio Space
The Bee Loft is a light and spacious arts and crafts studio conveniently situated 6 miles from York looking out over beautiful open countryside.
We have two making spaces. Upstairs is devoted to textiles, with a large open plan workshop space, a small cosy library and lot of inspirational bric-a-brac. Downstairs is a place for messy crafts such as mosaic making and papier-mâché.
The Bee Loft is located in beautiful countryside just 20 minutes outside York in the hamlet of Angram. You can find our location on the map below.
